Our Top Picks

The following are my top picks for socks. All of these are available in both Women’s and Men’s sizing.

1. Feetures Elite Max Cushion No-Show Tab Socks

These socks are some of my absolute favorite to wear, because they check all of the boxes.

Not only are the made of moisture-wicking materials, but they also offer a cushioned sole, zone-specific compression to provide support and minimize swelling.

The heel tab helps to prevent blisters on the back of your foot, while still keeping a low profile.

Not only are they comfortable, but I also love that they come in multiple colors, so you can change it up if you want.

As a bonus, they offer a lifetime guarantee on their socks. I haven’t had to use it, but it’s nice to know it’s there!

These socks feature a blend of merino wool, nylon, and elastane, making them moisture-wicking and comfortable.

They’re a great option for people who may prefer more natural fibers, like wool.

3. Bombas Ankle Socks

I will admit, I hesitated to buy Bombas socks for a long time. I just wasn’t sure they would live up to the hype.

But when I tried them, I immediately knew I wanted to get more. They’re just so dang comfortable!

I’ve tried a few different Bombas varieties, but my favorite ones for wearing to Disney World are the tri-block ankle socks.

The luxuriously soft fabric is a blend of cotton and polyester, and the heel tab helps to reduce friction.

I also like how the honeycomb section around the middle of the foot provides some gentle support.

In my opinion, these aren’t quite as moisture-wicking as some of the other socks, but because they’re super comfy and fit so many other criteria, I’m including them here.

You can buy them here on Amazon, or you can get 25% off your order here at Bombas.com.

4. Comrad Compression Socks

If you’re someone whose feet and ankles are prone to swelling, you may want to consider compression socks.

I have a couple of pair of Comrad compression socks, including ankle socks and crew socks.

The ankle socks are somewhat similar in feel to the Feetures socks I shared about above.

Comrad also makes tall compression socks, which could be ideal for those who need the extra support.

Finding the Right Socks for Disney

Talking about which socks to wear on your Disney Parks vacation may seem silly, but the truth is that picking the wrong socks (or shoes, for that matter) can cause a lot of foot pain, and ruin your magical experience.

So what socks should you wear for Disney?

There are two important factors to consider, especially if you’re trying to prevent blisters at Disney World.

First, you want socks that will wick away moisture.

Then after that, you want socks that fit properly and meet other needs you may have, such as cushioning or compression.

Look for Moisture-Wicking Fabric

The first, and perhaps most crucial factor to consider when shopping for socks for Disney World is moisture-wicking fabric.

This is important when you’re enjoying a rainy day at Disney, riding a water attraction, or simply sweating in the heat.

That’s because when socks are heavy and wet, they are more likely to rub against your skin, causing blisters.

Even if you’re not getting soaked, just walking around the park, waiting in line, and enjoying the rides can cause your feet to sweat.

Moisture from that sweat can lead to chafing, blisters, and discomfort.

That’s why it’s best to choose moisture-wicking socks that are made from breathable materials (such as synthetic polyester) that absorb sweat from your feet and promote air circulation to keep your feet fresh and dry.

It’s also a good idea to tuck an extra pair of socks into your fanny pack or backpack for Disney!

Go for Comfortable Cushioning

For walking and standing all day, comfortable cushioning is a must-have for your socks.

The ideal Disney World socks offer a layer of cushioning that provides support, reduces impact, and helps prevent foot fatigue.

Look for cushioning around the toes, heel, and arches of your feet – these are the areas that will experience the most pressure throughout your day.

Opt for Compression Socks

Compression socks are another great choice for Disney World adventurers, especially if you have pre-existing foot or leg conditions like poor circulation, varicose veins, or swelling.

These socks help promote blood flow to your feet and legs, reducing leg pain and fatigue and making it easier to walk or stand for extended periods.

Additionally, compression socks keep your calves supported, reducing the likelihood of cramps or injuries.

Compression socks can also be helpful in reducing the risk of the Disney rash.

Consider the Length of Your Socks

The length of your socks is a crucial factor in determining how comfortable you’ll be throughout your visit to Disney World.

While traditional ankle socks might be comfortable for some visitors, it isn’t always the best option.

Additionally, the length of your socks will be affected by the style and look of your shoes. If you’re wearing hi-top sneakers or boots, short or no-show socks might not be the best choice, as they can lead to rubbing and blistering around the ankle.

Taller socks, like crew socks or knee-high socks, can offer greater support and can prevent blisters and chafing.

If you prefer ankle socks, I like to choose options with a heel tab to help prevent blisters.

Avoid Thin Socks

The fabric used in most thin socks does not provide enough cushioning or support to be comfortable for a full day at the park.

Avoid thin socks if you want to keep your feet happy throughout the day.

Do You Need Socks for Disney World?

Lastly, consider whether or not you actually need socks for Disney World.

You could opt for sandals in the parks, which can be a great option.

Sandals can dry faster when they get wet, and they also help to keep your feet cool.

At the very least, you may want to consider bringing some sandals along with you, so you can alternate shoes one day, sandals the next.

We have a whole article dedicated to the best shoes to wear at Disney, including both sneakers and sandals.

But here are some of my personal favorite sandals to consider.

The Crocs sandals are my all-around favorite, because they’re stretchy, have a cushiony soft footbed, and can get wet.

The Vionic Amber sandals are a bit pricier, but they have an orthotic footbed and adjustable straps.

I love how supportive they are, and the neutral color matches everything from shorts to sundresses.

The Teva Sirra sandals are another good waterproof option. The fabric on the straps dries quickly and the footbed is comfortable.

What Kind of Socks to Bring to Disney World

Ultimately, finding the best socks for Disney World comes down to choosing comfortable and moisture-wicking fabric, choosing cushioned or compression socks, picking the right length, and embracing the fun!

Consider your footwear, the weather conditions, and any underlying foot or leg ailments you may have when deciding which socks are best for you.

Remember, the goal is to enjoy your trip without worrying about foot pain or fatigue.

I hope this guide helps make it easier to take care of your feet, choose the right socks, and have the time of your life at Disney World.
