Can you think of anything more magical than a Disney honeymoon?
When the happiest place on earth is also the most magical place on earth, you’re in for a truly romantic time if you decide to honeymoon at Walt Disney World.
In fact, it’s an incredibly popular honeymoon destination, and for good reason!
In this article, we take a look at how to plan the perfect Disney honeymoon and hacks to make your happily ever after as easy to prepare as possible.
After all, who doesn’t want a “just married” photo outside of Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom?
Does Walt Disney World Offer Honeymoon Packages?
Yes, Disney does offer honeymoon packages! Oddly, Disney’s honeymoon packages are not incredibly straightforward to find, but they do exist, courtesy of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons.
While you must contact this Disney service directly for exact prices and package options, you can completely customize your honeymoon package!
That means you can choose everything–down to your accommodations, ticket preferences, admission to entertainment, mini-golf and water sports add-ons, theme park tours, and more.
Disney’s Honeymoon Registry
Plus, Disney has a unique registry option for Disney honeymooners, called Honeymoon Wishes.
This Disney honeymoon registry allows newlyweds to register for their guests to gift them with magical Disney experiences on their honeymoon as an alternative to a typical wedding gift!
Some examples of gifts from a Honeymoon Wishes registry include:
- Accommodations at a Disney Resort Hotel
- Magic Your Way theme park tickets
- Carriage rides
- Specialty cruise
- Tickets to Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park
- Horseback trail rides
- Epcot Sea Aqua tour
- Characters in Flight hot air balloon
- Disney dining plan
And much more!
Don’t want to book your honeymoon package directly with Disney?
There are still plenty of ways to create the perfect Disney World or Disneyland honeymoon itinerary full of romance, magic, and special treatment for the newlyweds!
Knowing When to Honeymoon
If a honeymoon at the happiest place on earth is important to you, then you might want to plan your wedding date around the best times to honeymoon at Walt Disney World.
Luckily, off-season wedding venue dates and prices line up with off-season Disney, so planning your wedding around this may just work out perfectly!
If you want to avoid super long Disney wait times and a ton of congestion at the theme parks, then planning your Disney honeymoon from September to May (excluding any major holiday weekends) is your best bet.
Plus, you can score much better deals on everything from airline tickets to Walt Disney World resort rates if you choose to honeymoon in Disney’s off-season.
Disney Honeymoon Cost
Now for the main question on everyone’s mind – how much does a Disney honeymoon cost?
Just as the with the cost of any Disney vacation, the cost of your honeymoon will largely depend on whether you honeymoon during Disney’s busiest time of year, the mode of transportation you take, the resort you choose to stay at, and of course, how long you stay.
Generally, you’re looking at approximately $4,000 to $10,000 for a Disney World honeymoon.
Putting aside airfare, your highest cost will be whether you choose to stay in a deluxe resort or if you opt to stay in a more budget-friendly option.
Disney World has eight deluxe resorts to choose from, each with its own unique theme, spectacular dining options, spa treatments (couples massage, anyone?), and more.
Deluxe resorts, such as Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, will cost you anywhere from $700 to $1,500 per night just for the accommodations, which does not include the $25 per night parking fee.
If you choose to stay in a hotel room at one of Disney’s value resorts or moderate resorts, parking will be a little more affordable, at $15 and $20 per night, respectively.
Taking advantage of Disney’s free theme park transportation instead of renting a car will automatically shave hundreds of dollars off your trip, regardless of your resort tier!

Tips For Planning Your Disney World Honeymoon
Even though no pre-made Disney World honeymoon packages are offered directly through Disney, there are several ways to plan the Disney honeymoon of your dreams!
Let’s take a look at some of the best ways to start planning your romantic getaway.
Hire a Disney Travel Agent
Hiring an authorized Disney travel planner is like choosing a pre-made wedding package that has been put together, especially for you.
This is the absolute best way to ensure that you’re on your way to the Disney honeymoon of your dreams.
A Disney travel agent not only takes care of all the fun and romantic details of your honeymoon, but they also find you the best deals on flights and transportation.
You can find Disney travel agents that specialize in any Disney location you can think of, whether you’d like to honeymoon on a Disney Cruise Line, the Hawaiian Islands at Ko Olina on Oahu, explore Hong Kong Disneyland, or have a blast at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Book As Early As Possible
Whether you’ve decided to hire a travel agent or plan your dream Disney honeymoon yourself, it’s essential to book every aspect of your vacation early.
While booking an experience like a carriage ride or even a dining reservation months in advance may seem like overkill, I can promise you it’s not.
Most romantic activities at Disney need to be booked several months ahead, and restaurants will accept an advanced dining reservation 60 days in advance.
While last-minute dining reservations are not impossible, they’re not easy to come by.
Don’t worry, though – as long as you’re prepared and plan your itinerary well in advance, you will still be able to have the Disney experience of your dreams – just don’t lose that reservation confirmation!
Let Everyone Know You’re Newlyweds
Want to know the easiest and best way to let all of Disney know your newlywed status? Pick up your Happily Ever After pins!
Let any Disney cast member know you just got hitched, pick up your pins from any Disney Guest Services location, or let your hotel know (if they don’t already!) at check-in.
Cast members are encouraged to give pin-wearers all sorts of special perks, treatment, and experiences, making your special occasion even more magical–it’s like sprinkling pixie dust on your vacation!
You might even get a private tour of Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disneys Animal Kingdom.
If you want to really go all out, you can purchase some matching or coordinating Disney couples shirts, which are truly an adorable touch!
Don’t Try to Pack Too Much Into Your Vacation
Hear me out – you should absolutely try to have as many wonderful, magical experiences as possible on your honeymoon.
However, don’t try to cram too much into your trip, or you’ll find yourself overwhelmed instead of feeling accomplished.
Create a must-do itinerary that focuses on one or two daily activities. While you want to make your trip as memorable as possible, you also want to be able to relax on your honeymoon.
After all, planning a wedding is stressful!
Purchase the Disney Dining Plan
While the idea of a “dining plan” may seem restricting, it’s anything but at Disney World.
A Disney dining plan lets you prepay for all of your meals (including snacks!) for the length of your stay at Disney, so you don’t have to worry about the check whenever you dine.
The Disney Dining Plan is only available to those staying at Disney-owned resorts. It has three options: Quick-Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan Plus, and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan.
If you choose the most expensive option, the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, you will receive three full- or counter-service meals per day at any participating restaurant, as well as two snacks per day and a refillable mug.
Adults can expect to pay $119 each per day to have access to this plan, which can be a great deal.
It includes way more than you would ever expect and features top-of-the-line restaurants (including dining with your favorite Disney characters), room service, and even in-room pizza delivery, on top of more standard restaurants and snack stands.
Take Photos – And Get Some Help Taking Some Too!
While you should, of course, take as many photos as your heart desires on your own smartphone or camera, there are other ways to capture your honeymoon that you just can’t take yourself.
I’m referring to the PhotoPass and the Memory Maker services at the Disney parks!
PhotoPass photographers and stations are free and can be found around each Disney park. These cover ride photos, character meet and greets, and other photo-ops around the park.
All you need to do is scan your MagicBand (if you don’t have a MagicBand, you will receive a card with a barcode).
You can view your photos later via your My Disney Experience account, where you can purchase and download your images documenting the happy couple.
If you’re looking for even more help scoring the perfect Disney honeymoon photos, then you can purchase Memory Maker’s unlimited photo package.
With Memory Maker, you will receive all your photos and videos from your Disney adventures for the entire day or the length of your Disney vacation.
Purchasing Memory Maker in advance will cost you $169 instead of the $199 for purchasing during your vacation!
Are Disney Honeymoons Worth It?
You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who says that they regret having their honeymoon at Disney World.
Whether you want to spend your honeymoon having a blast on theme park rides (Space Mountain, anyone?), enjoying the sights and sounds of one of the specialty cruises, or relaxing on the beach, there is a Disney honeymoon for everyone.
No matter your choice, your honeymoon is guaranteed to be magical with a Disney honeymoon.
