We’re sharing some of the fun and magic of balloons at Disney World and how they can make your vacation even more special.
Where to Buy Disney World Balloons?
First things first–where can you buy these fun balloons in the Disney parks?
If you’re in the Magic Kingdom, Main Street USA is the best place to purchase your favorite Disney balloons.
There’s almost always a vendor located here in the middle of the street.
You can also buy balloons at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (on Hollywood Boulevard). You cannot currently buy balloons at Animal Kingdom or Epcot.
No theme park ticket? You can sometimes find balloons at Disney Springs!
How much are Mickey Balloons at Disney world?
At the time of writing, the current price for balloons in Walt Disney World resort ranges from $12-18, depending on the type of balloon.
Keep in mind that balloon venders only accept cash, so you won’t be able to use a credit cards, Disney gift cards, or your MagicBand to pay for your balloons.
What types of Disney Balloons are available?
With a wide selection of Mickey Mouse and other classic characters and designs, you’ll be sure to find the perfect balloon for any occasion.
A traditional favorite includes the classic Mickey balloons, which feature a Mickey Mouse balloon inside of a clear balloon.
Other favorites include classic characters like Winnie the Pooh, BB8 from Star Wars, or beloved Disney Princesses.
Sometimes you can find specialty balloons that have lights in them, which can be fun in the evenings.
It’s so fun to walk up to one of the balloon vendors and peruse the different types of balloons when making your selection.

- They bring joy and nostalgia to all who see them.
- Unique and creative designs of each balloon are an added bonus.

- Perfect for people of all ages, young, and old alike!
How long do Disney Balloons last?
Disney Balloons typically last anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the quality of the balloon and the conditions of where it is being stored.
Proper maintenance and storage will also factor into how long your Disney Balloon can last.
To get the most out of your Disney Balloon, try to keep it out of extreme temperatures (not always easy in the Florida sun!).
What Happens if My Disney World Balloon Pops?
Unfortunately, it is common for balloons to pop from time to time, which is no fun!
If your Disney balloon pops or deflates, take it to a balloon vendor cast member for a free balloon replacement.
Can you get on a ride at Disney World with a balloon?
Unfortunately, balloons are not allowed on rides at Disney World.
This is to ensure that no one gets hurt by a deflated or popped balloon while riding an attraction.
However, I’ve read that you can hand off a balloon to cast members when getting on a ride, though I’ve never personally tried it.
I prefer to wait until leaving the park to purchase a balloon, for this very reason! If you have a stroller or somewhere you can tie the balloon, it’s not as big of a deal.
Can a Disney Balloon go on a plane with you?
Wondering how to take Disney balloons home if you’re flying?
The balloon will have to be deflated, as it is not recommended to bring a helium-filled balloon on the plane as they are considered hazardous materials.
A small, deflated Disney Balloon can be taken with you in carry-on luggage or checked bags.
I’ve heard that the staff at the Disney Store in the Orlando International Airport can help deflate your balloon if necessary, but I’ve never tried it myself.
If you very carefully deflate the balloon, you may be able to reinflate it at a florist or party store when you’re back home.
Tips for Keeping Your Disney Balloons from Floating Away
Because these are helium balloons, there’s always a risk of them floating away.
My favorite way to ensure longevity of a balloon is to purchase it on your way out of the park, rather than on your way in.
This way, you don’t have to keep up with it during the day, and the risk of it getting popped or flying away decreases.
Once you have your balloon, it’s helpful to tie it to something secure, like a stroller or backpack, so you don’t have to hold onto it at all times.
