Park Planning Ahead of Time
Wondering how to avoid disappointment when visiting Walt Disney World with toddlers or small children?
First of all, if you’re planning on taking your little ones to Walt Disney World, be sure to review the height requirements before purchasing tickets!
Knowledge is power, so knowing what to expect ahead of time will make a world of difference.
If your children are going to be below the height requirements, be sure to plan your day around some attractions everyone can enjoy.
For instance, there are plenty of attractions available with no height requirements whatsoever, such as playing live-action games at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin or enjoying Toy Story Mania!
These two popular attractions will give everyone a chance to have fun together because everyone can participate in the action-packed adventures.
Be Mindful of Changes to the height guides
In recent years Disney has started to modify some of their park offerings in order to accommodate smaller guests.
Now there are several rides that don’t have a height requirement at all, and some others that allow children as small as 32-inches tall on board!
Everyone should know the Disney World height requirements when planning a trip in order to enjoy their day at the park.
Here is everything you need to know about Disney height requirements so your entire family can have the most fun possible!
Why Does Disney World Have height requirements?
I often find that children are more understanding once they know the reasons behind the rules, so let’s start there.
The Disney World height requirements may seem very strict, but there is a good reason behind them.
Ultimately, as you probably guessed, the height requirements at Disney World are in place due to safety reasons. These guidelines ensure the safety of all guests.
There is a lot that goes into designing and constructing rides, so it’s important for as many people to be able to enjoy them safely.
For example, guests can’t board attractions if they are too small for the restraint system to properly work, or not tall enough to reach ride elements like buttons and touch screens on interactive games.
There will be a cast member at each attraction who ensures all guests adhere to the guidelines.

How tall do you have to be to ride all the Disney World rides?
The magical number to be able to ride each and every ride at Walt Disney World is… drum roll please… 48 inches (or 122 centimeters) to get the go-ahead to ride anything you please.
If you exceed this height limit, then you’re good to go!
Utilize the Rider Switch Program
If you crave roller coasters with big thrill action, don’t worry, Disney Parks has you covered with their rider switch service!
The Rider Switch pass is a program that makes it easier for everyone to enjoy the ride. With Disney’s rider swap program, for those that are not able to meet the height requirements, one member of their party can stay with them while the other members of the party enjoy the attraction.
After the first adult rides, the child swap allows the waiting adult from the first group to board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!
Disney World rides without minimum height requirements
Because we definitely want to ensure even the littlest of tykes have fun, too, here is a list of rides that don’t have height requirements.
Be sure to add some of these to your itinerary for the day! Do keep in mind that many of these attractions require an adult to accompany young children on the ride.
