If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland and you have younger children, you may be wondering what to do about a stroller.

Should you take your own stroller, or should you just rent a stroller at Disneyland?

Or maybe you should just buy an inexpensive new stroller at a store near Disneyland?

Do you even need a stroller at Disneyland?

Let’s talk about all of these options a little more so that you can make the best decision for your family vacation.

What to Know about Bringing Your Own Stroller to Disneyland

Disneyland put new rules in place regarding strollers in the parks in 2019.

The most important of these is the size of the strollers allowed. If you decide to take your own stroller to the park you need to make sure that it is no larger than 31” x 52”.

Disneyland also no longer allows stroller wagons of any size inside the theme parks.

If you decide to bring your own, just make sure it fits the requirements first!

Disneyland Stroller Rental Options

There are lots of reasons that you may not want to take your own stroller with you to Disneyland.

You might not have room for it in the car with all of your luggage. Or maybe you don’t want to check it on the plane and risk having it lost or damaged.

If you don’t have room for your stroller or don’t want to take it on a plane, there are a few stroller rental options available to you at Disneyland.

Renting a Stroller Within Disneyland

Disneyland does have strollers available for rent inside the park.

They offer both single and double strollers that you can rent for the day. The Disneyland stroller rental location is just to the east of the main park entrance, so it’s easy to find once you enter the park.

You can currently rent a single stroller at Disneyland for $18 per day, or a double stroller for $36 per single day.

The Disney strollers available for rent are made of hard red plastic with Mickey and Minnie Mouse on the sides of them.

These strollers are not known to be particularly comfortable, because they are made of hard plastic and they don’t recline if your child may want to nap in the stroller.

If you have an infant and you need to rent a stroller for Disneyland then you are probably going to want to consider other options, particularly if they are in an infant carrier.

There is no way to attach an infant carrier to the rental stroller available at Disneyland.

These strollers also cannot leave the park, so you can’t take them to any other local attractions or to your hotel.

If you’re park hopping between the two Disney parks of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, you’ll need to turn your stroller in at the first park and pick up another one at the next park.

You won’t need to pay twice, though–just show your receipt.

Renting from Outside Agencies

Renting a stroller from Disneyland park is not your only option though.

You can rent a stroller, and other baby gear, and have it delivered to your hotel for you to use during your stay.

These strollers are not rented from Disneyland or the resorts, but from rental companies that operate in the area.

There are several different companies that you can rent a stroller from for the duration of your stay.

The companies typically offer a variety of options, including both single and double stroller rentals.

One major benefit of renting a stroller from one of these companies is that you can leave the park with the stroller and take it back to your hotel.

If you have an overtired kid at the end of the day, this can be extremely helpful!

ScooterBug

ScooterBug is Disney’s offsite rental company of choice for strollers, adaptive strollers for special needs, electric convenience vehicles (ECVs) and wheelchairs.

If you are staying at a Disneyland resort hotel, this is the only company that you can use where you do not have to be present for the pick-up and delivery of your stroller.

City Stroller Rentals

City Stroller Rentals is another stroller rental company that you can use during your visit to Disneyland.

City Strollers offers sit and stand, single, double, and special needs strollers.

You can also rent high chairs, pack-n-plays, guard rails, and other baby equipment from City Stroller Rentals.

You just need to be present when the equipment is dropped off and picked up.

Do I Need a Stroller At Disneyland?

If you even think that you “might” need a stroller at Disneyland, then you probably do.

Disneyland is a big place, and that means a LOT of walking for little legs. Having a stroller means that your kiddo has a place to sit, rest, and reboot if they become overstimulated.

You can also use the Disneyland strollers to help lug around all of the “stuff” that comes with taking children on a big adventure like this.

Extra clothes, blankets, snacks, you know all of those things you must have.

It’s a good idea to have one bag that you keep on you with keys, phones, cell phone chargers, ID, etc., and then another bag that you can leave with the stroller.

Where Do I Park My Stroller?

If you do decide that you need/want a stroller at Disneyland you may be wondering what you do with it when you go on attractions or inside to see a show.

Not to worry, there are stroller parking areas in specified areas of the park, and they are plentiful.

If you can’t find your stroller chances are a cast member may have needed to move it to clear a walking path or fit more strollers in the designated area.

Speaking of finding your stroller… there are LOTS of strollers at Disneyland on any given day. So you may want to do something to make yours stand out.

Some people tie a balloon to their stroller to make it stand out, you could also use washi tape or a cloth bandana in a unique and bold pattern tied to the handle.

Stroller Rental at Disneyland

Renting a stroller at Disneyland is not difficult, and even if you rent one from an outside company instead of within the park, the rental prices per day is comparable.

If your children are younger, it is likely to be well worth the expense, no matter where you choose to rent one from.
